Tugun Tunnel
Tugun, QLD · 2026
Structural condition assessment of a confined, below-ground on-site detention tank.
A structural condition assessment of the underground on-site detention (OSD) tank at the Tugun Bypass tunnel — a confined, below-ground reinforced-concrete water structure that is rarely seen and easily overlooked until it starts to fail.
Our engineers planned confined-space access, then assessed the concrete condition, reinforcement corrosion and water tightness of the tank, and reviewed its structural adequacy and remaining service life. The result was a prioritised set of remedial recommendations the asset owner could act on to keep the structure performing.
