PTPost-tensioned concrete
A major redevelopment of the Cranbrook School campus: a new aquatic and fitness centre built around a 50 m swimming pool, a theatre and performance rooms, an assembly hall and dining, a chapel and eleven new classrooms. Long-span, post-tensioned concrete carried much of the structure.
The work covered design and construction management, with the principal contractor managed on site. Conventional reinforcement and post-tensioned ducts were inspected before every pour, workmanship was held to a high standard, and engineering issues and RFIs were resolved as construction progressed.
